NLCC meeting 8th May 2023, 1930hrs by Zoom
1. Present; Dave Wrigglesworth DW, Karl Spierling KS, Lisa Glaze LG, Marie MacLachlan MML, Ann Marie Cameron AM
2. Apologies; Marylin Macdonald MMD, Brian Pearson BP.
3. Proposed; KS, Seconded; LG.
4. Treasurers Report; £3122.65 (£51.26to all-round signs for plaque and £103.67 for GRAPL website fee) AM to pay NL church, MML to get invoice from church treasurer.
5. Planning; N/A
6. Matters arising;
i. Village Hall-no news yet, waiting for survey to determine future.
ii. NLCA – activity day on Sunday, tubs being replaced. Picnic site was strimmed and litter picked up. Plans to paint benches this year. The CC hopes to get info on a date for the midsummer BBQ into newsletter.
iii. Barn – KS in talks with HR company for running of barn. KS, IJ and Klara meeting with MacPhees regarding purchase of the barn.
iv. Onich Hotel – Response from Owner regarding contamination on beach, DW has replied, we await further communications.
v. Inchree- DW received an email to say that we should hear very soon regarding decisions on the new road.
vi. MMD received confirmation that parking charges won’t be enforced and are purely voluntary. KS suggests requesting money acquired to be spent on improving paths. Map plans on hold as new road will change information.
vii. MMD has contributed info about “Hail and Ride” and Inchree news for the newsletter.
viii. QR code – MML was not able to register for a code as the CC is not a registered charity, LG suggests a QR code could link on the website.
ix. MMD has had plaque made, KS to put it up.
x. Website – GRAPL host our website, BP found it very difficult to deal with. Everyone that uses it finds WordPress very tricky to use. DW suggests a meeting between DW, BP, Neil from GRAPL and any other members of the CC interested in learning how to improve the website.
xi. NLCC AGM will on Thursday 6th July by Zoom, information of this will be distributed in the newsletter. AM will make posters, DW will put them up on noticeboards. LG’s contact details will be shared to invite members of the community to participate/join.

xiii. Corran Ferry
xiv. NLCC is part of all CC meetings taking place with HC. Requests are being made for funding for slipways and one electric ferry and not two as previously suggested. Further investigations into a fixed link are ongoing. DW is strongly stating at all meetings that we cannot give opinions without consulting the residents within the community. Surveys will now take place. CC members are interested in the possible lifespan of both the current ferry and of new electric ferries. AM questions where the responsibility lies for providing a link to the peninsula.
xv. Newsletter – FLS, Corran, St Brides, Soup and Sandwich, CA, Village Hall. All members to submit their paragraphs to AM to be prepared to be sent out in June.
xvi. Google share – MML has set this up and will share passwords/info soon.
7. AOB;
I. Residents have been in touch regarding cows escaping by the Ballachulish bridge. There are also concerns regarding the welfare of the animals. There have been communications from residents both now and previously how the area is rather messy and is within an NSA. DW will begin communications with the owners to resolve issues with fencing and containment of livestock.
