Minutes of the Nether Lochaber Community Council Meeting Tuesday 13th January 2026 – Nether Lochaber Church Hall 7.30pm

- Matters Arising from Minutes
- QR code for Minutes - MML made the poster last year, CB made the QR code, MML was recommended by HC to postpone displaying this until after the Interim Election was held. The following meeting dates were set up for the year ahead.
10thFebruary10thMarch, 14thApril, 12thMay (AGM), 9thJune, 11thAug, 8thSeptember, 13thOctober and the 10th November.
- Mobile bank discussion, as previously discussed - unfortunately it seems that less people require the service and that would explain the decline in customers.
- Police Report - no representation at the meeting.
- Defibrillators – MMD spoke to Ben from Roam West regarding a defibrillator at Roam West; he kindly offered a donation towards the devices planned for NL. The cost of each device is £1200, this is a reduced amount and does not include fitting. We are looking at a cost of £2400 for both. The CC has to establish how much we can contribute. MML will ask at the next PC meeting at St Brides. The HC discretionary fund is another possibility, EML will pursue the HC fund.

- Treasurers Report - Balance £4475.45
- Planning – No correspondence on current applications.
- Village Hall Update – the transfer papers have been signed; the Title Deeds may take some time to come through. EML will get in touch with McIntyre's to enquire on how much the NLCC are due to pay. The next Soup and Sandwich lunch is on Monday 19th The next VH meeting is on Thursday 15th January 2026 at 7.30pm in the Church Hall.

- Road works beginning on 18th Jan through to 11th Feb in Onich, in 2 different locations. Works will be taking place over night with amnesties.
- MML emailed Bear about flooding on the roads in December, they replied almost 4 weeks later to say they would investigate the areas concerned. In that time, the matters resolved and then became an issue again.
- MML passed on a link to the Committee re a SEPA consultation ongoing until 3rd Anyone with concerns should consider sharing their views. This is a public consultation.
- An Gearasden integrated transport forum has gone into abeyance.
- MMD will now check the CC email account for correspondence from FW2040, LCA, Corran Ferry Steering Group, Lochaber Community partnership. CB will send passwords.
- Date of Next Meeting -10th Feb at 7.30pm in the NL Church Hall.
