Minutes of the Nether Lochaber Community Council Meeting Tuesday 14th April 2026 – Nether Lochaber Church Hall 7.30pm
Present – Marylin Macdonald MMD (NLCC, NLVH), Elizabeth MacLellan EML (NLCC), Chris Boles CB (NLCC), Kathleen Cameron KC (NLCC, NLVH), Marie MacLachlan MLM (NLCC, NLVH), Campbell Thomson of MaCCOLL.
- Apologies- None.
- Adoption of previous minutes; proposed by MMD, seconded KC.
- Matters arising from previous minutes.
- CB relayed the CC position with regards to a place plan.
- MMD and MLM met with Andy Bate, there is a newsletter available for the Ardgour and Nether Lochaber communities. The company Charles Brand are very communicative and keen to have a good relationship with residents. There will be regular meetings and newsletters available.
- Police report- Not present.
- MaCCOLL
Community Coastal Charity for marine matters in Loch Linnhe. 200 members and 14 trustees make up the charity.
Unanimous decision amongst committee members at supporting the efforts of the charity. The CC will send an email to MaCCOLL formally supporting its work. Information on MaCCOLL is available on the following website. https://www.maccoll.org.uk/
- Defibrilators
Roam West have installed one of the the defibrillators and it is now active on the circuit. MMD and KC will meet with Ben at Roam West to get pictures with the newly installed defibrillator.
The defibrillator at St Brides has yet to be installed. There is a change in Head Teachers at the school.MML will speak to Caroline Brennan (newly appointed Head Teacher) about installation. The NLCC will need to purchase signage for the defibrillators.
- Spring newsletter – will be more likely a summer newsletter due to time constraints.

MMD and MML both attended the community alliance meeting. matters raised were the new Belford planning application. Integrated transport plan- this was interesting to hear different views. Visitor levy was also discussed.Treasurer Report

EML will get the accounts audited before the AGM.

No objections from the community on any current applications.
10 Village hall update
Next soup lunch is Monday 20th
“Delivering the Post, by David Hamilton” is on Thursday 23rd
The AGM is on Thursday 30th April
A coffee morning is on Saturday 2nd May 10-2pm in the NL Church Hall.

St Brides primary school is being used as a polling station so will be closed on Thursday 7th
KC email to Transport Scotland – ongoing
MML - notice boards are not very usable. All the QR code sheets need replaced as they have blown off the boards - MMD will enquire with the men’s shed to see if upgrading is possible.
- Date of next meeting is Tuesday 12th of May at 7.30pm this is the AGM and will be followed by an ordinary meeting.
